Mehdi Hasan Launches Zeteo, a New Digital Media Company for Blunt News Commentary

Former MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan has announced the launch of his new digital media company, Zeteo. The subscription-based news organization aims to provide a platform for Hasan to speak bluntly about issues such as racism, fascism, and genocide. Zeteo, derived from an ancient Greek word meaning “to seek out, to inquire, to get to the truth,” will feature hard-hitting interviews and unsparing analysis. Unlike Tucker Carlson’s “Tucker Carlson Network,” Zeteo will offer a diverse range of opinions and ideas from a team of contributors assembled by Hasan.

Hasan, who previously worked at Al Jazeera and hosted shows on NBC’s streaming platform Peacock and MSNBC, left the latter network in January for a new challenge. During an appearance on CNN’s The Lead, Hasan expressed his desire to speak more plainly about current events, highlighting the gaps he sees in cable news and print press coverage.

Zeteo aims to provide a fresh perspective in the media landscape, offering a platform for Hasan and his team to address pressing issues without fear. The launch of Zeteo marks Hasan’s foray into independent digital media, where he plans to deliver hard-hitting news commentary and analysis.
