Staff Praise NHS Grampian’s New ANCHOR Centre After Tours

NHS Grampian’s new ANCHOR Centre has received positive feedback from staff members who recently toured the facility. The health board organized tours for nearly 240 colleagues who will be working in the building once it opens. The ANCHOR Centre, a cancer and blood disorder treatment center, is expected to treat approximately 65,000 patients annually. Staff members expressed admiration for the well-designed consulting rooms and the overall consideration given to staff needs. The treatment zone was particularly praised for its potential to enhance patient experience. Carolyn Annand, a project nurse, highlighted the importance of involving staff in the project and allowing them to witness the progress of the ANCHOR Centre. The facility, located at the Foresterhill Health Campus in Aberdeen, was visited by representatives from various staff groups, including nursing, pharmacy, medical, administrative, and facilities management. Louise-Anne Budge, the service and commissioning lead for the project, emphasized the value of early staff engagement in planning for the new center. The ANCHOR Centre is expected to serve as a valuable asset for patients and staff in the region for years to come.
